I usually have a few quilts in progress. Each time I finish a quilt top, I measure it and write the dimensions on a piece of paper that I pin to the back in the upper righthand corner. Then, whenever I'm ready to run to the store for backing fabric, all I need to do is grab the piece(s) of paper; I don't have to measure any quilt tops again. It saves me a lot of time.
