Quilting Inspiration
Over the years I've made many baby quilts, for which I love to use traditional pieced patterns with creative fill-in quilting stitches. Recently I felt I was running out of quilting design ideas, but I got inspired one day while cleaning out my kitchen pantry. I came across my box of seldom-used cookie cutters, some of which date back to my grandmother. I discovered that these cookie cutters make great templates for quilting designs, especially the animal shapes. I now keep an eye open at flea markets and garage sales for cutters in unusual or interesting shapes to add to my collection of "templates."
