When it became uncomfortable for me to use the floor to pin my quilt for machine-quilting, I had to improvise. I put two 5×2½ -foot folding tables side by side on bed risers to make a large surface that doesn't require me to bend over. I secure a quilt to the tables with small woodworking clamps from the hardware store. No more aching back!
