Pillow Placement

I love to hand appliqué but holding my work in my lap was awkward and resulted in inconsistent stitches. The instructor of an appliqué class suggested that I place a throw pillow on my lap to hold my work. I chose an oblong pillow that has a smooth surface and rounded corners. It provides a comfortable, table, and soft surface that's just the right height for appliquéing. Now my stitches are uniform!
