Multiple Marks

When you need to draw diagonal lines on many small squares, line up four or five on the diagonal. Place your long ruler on the diagonal across the squares and mark with a pencil. Some lines may have to be tweaked for accuracy, but it saves time. When it's time to cut on the lines, lay them out the same way and use your rotary cutter.
