- 2--7-1/2x51-1/2" outer border strips
- 2--3-1/2" squares
From solid teal blue, cut:
- 6--3-1/2x42" strips for inner border
From multicolor stripe, cut
- 1--27" square, cutting it diagonally into enough 2-1/2"-wide strips to total 275" in length for bias binding
Assemble Block A
1. Referring to Diagram 1, lay out teal blue print, solid orange, and orange polka dot rectangles in the sizes shown. Sew together teal blue print and solid orange rectangles in sections to make center unit. Press seams toward solid orange rectangles
2. Join orange polka dot rectangles to center unit to make block A. Press seams toward orange polka dot rectangles. Block A should be 15-1/2x30-1/2" including seam allowances.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to make a second block A.
Assemble Block B
1. Referring to Diagram 2, lay out a yellow polka dot square, orange print rectangles, and teal blue print rectangles in the sizes shown. Sew together yellow polka dot square and orange print rectangles in sections to make center unit. Press seams toward orange print rectangles.
2. Join teal blue print rectangles to center unit to make a teal blue block B. Press seams toward teal blue print rectangles. Block B should be 15-1/2" square including seam allowances.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to make three teal blue B blocks total.
4. Referring to Diagram 3, repeat steps 1 and 2 using yellow floral squares, solid orange rectangles, and yellow polka dot rectangles in the sizes shown to make two yellow B blocks total.
Assemble Quilt Center
1. Lay out A blocks and B blocks in three horizontal rows (Quilt Assembly Diagram; note rotation of the blocks).
2. Sew together blocks in each row. Press seams in one direction, alternating direction with each row.
3. Join rows to compete quilt center. Press seams in one direction. The quilt center should be 45-1/2" square including seam allowances.
Add Borders
1. Cut and piece solid teal blue 3-1/2x42" strips to make:
- 2--3-1/2x51-1/2" inner border strips
- 2--3-1/2x45-1/2" inner border strips
2. Sew short inner border strips to opposite edges of quilt center. Join long inner border strips to remaining edges. Press all seams toward inner border.
3. Sew short outer border strips to opposite edges of quilt center. Add long outer border strips to remaining edges to complete quilt top. Press all seams toward outer border.
Finish Quilt
1. Layer quilt top, batting, and backing; baste.
2. Quilt as desired.
3. Bind with multicolor stripe bias binding strips.
