Materials

  • 1/2 yard each green, turquoise, yellow, and pink tone-on-tones (squares)
  • 1/4 yard purple tone-on-tone (squares)
  • 1/2 yard each assorted turquoise, pink, purple, green, and yellow prints (squares)
  • 3/4 yard purple stripe (binding)
  • 2-2/3 yards backing fabric
  • 48x60" batting

Finished Quilt: 42-1/2x54-1/2"

Quantities are for 44/45"-wide, 100% cotton fabrics. Measurements include 1/4" seam allowances. Sew with right sides together unless otherwise stated.

Cut Fabrics

Cut pieces in the following order.

From green tone-on-tone, cut:

  • 8--6-7/8" squares, cutting each in half diagonally for 16 triangles total

From turquoise tone-on-tone, cut:

  • 8--6-7/8" squares, cutting each in half diagonally for 16 triangles total; you will use 15

From yellow tone-on-tone, cut:

  • 8--6-7/8" squares, cutting each in half diagonally for 16 triangles total

From pink tone-on-tone, cut:

  • 6--6-7/8" squares, cutting each in half diagonally for 12 triangles total

From purple tone-on-tone, cut

  • 2--6-7/8" squares, cutting each in half diagonally for 4 triangles total

From assorted turquoise prints, cut:

  • 7--6-7/8" squares, cutting each in half diagonally for 14 triangles

From assorted pink prints, cut:

  • 6--6-7/8" squares, cutting each in half diagonally for 12 triangles (you will use 11)

From assorted purple prints, cut:

  • 8--6-7/8" squares, cutting each in half diagonally for 16 triangles (you will use 15)

From assorted green prints, cut:

  • 6--6-7/8" squares, cutting each in half diagonally for 12 triangles (you will use 11)

From assorted yellow prints, cut:

  • 6--6-7/8" squares, cutting each in half diagonally for 12 triangles

From purple stripe, cut:

  • 1--27" square, cutting it diagonally into enough 2-1/2"-wide strips to total 210" in length for bias binding

Assemble Triangle Squares

1. Sew together one assorted tone-on-tone triangle and one assorted print triangle to make a triangle square (Triangle-Square). Press seam toward print fabric. The triangle square should be 6-1/2" square including seam allowances.

2. Following Quilt Assembly Diagram repeat Step 1 to make 63 triangle-squares total.

Assemble Quilt Center

1. Referring to Quilt Assembly Diagram, lay out triangle-squares in nine horizontal rows.

2. Sew together pieces in each row. Press seams in one direction, alternating direction with each row. Join rows to make quilt top. Press seams in one direction.

Finish Quilt

1. Layer quilt top, batting, and backing; baste.

2. Quilt as desired.

3. Bind with purple stripe bias binding strips.
