One Million Pillowcase Challenge
Linda Augsburg gives an update on the One Million Pillowcase Challenge for 2015!
Hi, I'm Linda Augsburg, and I'm here with an update on the American Patchwork & Quilting One Million Pillowcase Challenge. To date, we've had more than 600,000 pillowcases donated to charities worldwide thanks to your support of this program. We appreciate that you're helping us reach that One Million Pillowcase Challenge goal. And we know that it means a lot to you that you're supporting your favorite charities and helping out in your community by making pillowcases and donating them. We've all heard the stories of how these pillowcases, a homemade something, can make a difference in people's lives. These pillowcases have made a difference in the lives of hospitalized children, homeless families, and anyone in need who just needs to know that someone out there cares about them, and they've got something that they can call their own. What we can provide for you is instructions to dozens of pillowcases, everything from a pillowcase that's perfect for an absolute beginning sewer to letting you really explore your sewing skills with pieced and applique patterns. So check those out. Be sure to keep count of how many pillowcases you donate and add them to our counter at allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases. That number jumps daily, so keep an eye on it. You'll love seeing the growth. Be sure to save the date. We're very excited to announce that we'll be doing our 24-hour pillowcase sewathon again in September of 2015. Our plans are for September 18-19 and there will be other local events in areas all over the country and possibly all over the world. So we're excited to have you mark that on your calendar and we'll get you more details as they become available. Thanks so much for helping and supporting the One Million Pillowcase Challenge.
