Citrus Patch Throw

Debbie Maddy used a coordinated lively mix of fabrics from the Fresh Squeezed collection for Moda Fabrics for her citrus-inspired version of Cubic Rhythm.

Stepping Out

Don't throw them away! Use leftover 2-1/2"-wide strips to make a big tote for your sewing supplies. Accent it with a complementary pincushion.

Stepping Out Color Option

Easy, Breezy Tote

If you want an even easier bag to assemble, use 6x16-1/2" rectangles of fabric, instead of the rectangles pieced from 2-1/2"-wide strips, for the bag top and bottom. We used stripes from the Kite collection by Felicity Miller for FreeSpirit in place of the pieced strips and added two coordinates in the center band.

Click here for instructions needed to make this bag.

Triangle Tango Color Option

Twisted Triangles

Using a group of whimsical children's prints, such as the Me & My Sister's Butterfly Fling collection for Moda Fabrics, designer Roseann Meehan Kermes seized the chance to use the versatile units from Triangle Tango to make an appealing baby quilt. Roseann sewed together 63 triangle-squares and omitted the borders to make this 42-1/2x54-1/2" quilt. Or change the fabrics to a more sophisticated palette-the generous size makes a cozy throw for grown-ups.

Click here for instructions needed to make this throw.

Optical Illusion

Don't be fooled. It may look like intricate piecing, but it's actually fast-and-easy appliqué on a classic Snowball block.

Optical Illusion Color Option

Old-World Snowballs

Make the easy-to-sew Optical Illusion even easier by eliminating the appliqués and cutting the Snowball block corners from a single fabric. Vegetable Dyes by Kathy Hall give this cozy coverlet a soft, lived-in feeling when it's new from the machine. The prints, inspired by old-world, wood-block motifs, are printed with natural dyes for Andover Fabrics.

Click here for instructions needed to make this throw.
