She says: "I used to be in love with fusible web, but now I'm kind of in love with my glue stick. I'm working super directly and letting this washable school glue, which of course you wash out and it doesn't have any stiffness or anything, tack my farbic down until I get to the sewing machine. You only need it to stay down for the hour it takes you to construct your image or shape. And then you can use the thread to hold it in place."

She says: "I knew there were these big, amazing quilting shows out there, but I never thought that someone like me could get in, let alone win any recognition. I had this stumbling block, which was called perfectionism, which I think other people have, and I just thought, 'Oh, I'm not good enough. I could never do that.' So I never pursued it. But then again, once I went to QuiltCon, that was the first time I ever entered a large show. The fact that I got a quilt into the show (it didn't win an award), but just the fact that someone thought it was good enough to get in was such a huge burst of energy for me."
