Finally Tackle Your Pile of UFOs

We're a few days away from the New Year, and you know what that means – time for New Year's resolutions! We hear from quilters every year that one of their big goals is to tackle their UFOs (also known as unfinished objects).  Joanna, the editor of Quilts & More, talks about ways to be successful with working through your pile of long-term projects.

Getting Sewcial

Elizabeth, art director of American Patchwork & Quilting, chats with Shannon Gillman Orr of Eva Blake's Makery. Shannon refers to herself as a "reformed architect" and shares the story of how she pivoted from working at an architecture firm to getting into the world of textiles and illustrating. She is the creator of the helpful resource called Plan to Quilt, which has sold over 4,000 copies and is now on its third edition. Shannon explains why she felt the quilting world needed this organizer and the amazing new features found in the newest edition (including a way to measure your joy levels while making a project). Shannon also is a fabric design, and had popular collections with Moda Fabrics before taking over the process by designing and selling her fabric from her own website. Her beautiful designs can also be found on stationary, needle minders, tea towels, and more. Shannon also offers a variety of courses, including those on color theory, painting, and a more.
