Past Perfect
Temecula Quilt Co. boasts hominess in a town – Temecula, California – that once was known for its easygoing agriculture environment. Now the community is a winery destination, and Tim and Sheryl Johnson offer quilt shoppers a neat-as-a-pin store. A House block pillow on a small chair is a preview to the shop's inviting interior.

Back to School Color Option
A palette of bold colors conjures up images of a bright summer day full of blooming flowers and singing birds. The Bluebird Dishes collection by Lily Mae for Fine Lines Fabrics is a striking contrast to the darker fabrics used in the original Back to School quilt.

Creative Display
"I opened the shop as a way to share my love of quilting and the need to express my creativity," Sheryl says. "I enjoy a lot of different forms of creativity-displays, packaging, designing, and, of course, quilting."

Teaching All Ages
Sheryl and Linda Sawrey offer classes for all age groups. Grandma's Gathering is a class for sewing for baby quilts. Appliqué Block of the Month results in 7-inch blocks that are pieced together, then framed. Prairie Girls teaches budding needleworkers ages 8 through 12 the skills of their great-grandmothers: hand embroidery, apron-making, and simple quilting.

Pocket-Size Favorites
A popular pattern at the shop is Netty's Sampler pincushion. Sheryl collected vintage quilt patterns into a palm-size booklet for the 10th annual Southern California Shop Hop. The booklet features small quilts in traditional patterns.
