A Pieceful Place
Located in Fox River Grove, Illinois, Pieceful Gathering Quilt Shop serves as more than a quilt store. Quilters come to be with friends as much as they do for the reproduction fabrics and wool. Carrie Quinn and Katie Reed, the mother-daughter ownership team, pride themselves on designing one-of-a-kind wonders for their shop.

Small Snippets
Carrie created Snippet Stew, a line of patterns geared toward using fabric pieces that are smaller than fat quarters. Katie designs wool beauties and writes many of the shop's patterns. Czech Stew, one of the quilt patterns in the Snippet Stew pattern line, hangs on the wall surrounded by bolts, bundles, and bits of reproduction fabrics.

Mighty Oak
Pieceful Gatherings' quilt shop owners Carrie Quinn and Katie Reed created Mighty Oak for Quilt Sampler® Fall/Winter 2012 magazine. This autumnal beauty might show you a curve-but there are only straight-line seams in the piecing.

Machine-Quilting Details
Vonnie Johnson and Cathy Banker, Pieceful Gathering Quilt Shop employees, machine-quilted an allover feather design in the tan print background, curved lines following the seams in the pieced blocks, and veins and other details in the leaf appliqués.
