Small Details
Rachelle and her husband, David, bought the building in 2003. David and a cousin completely gutted and renovated the structure. When they found deep gouges in the fir floors, David filled the holes with old poker chips and silver dollars.

Machine-Quilting Details
Johanne Moore, a staff member at Pendleton Quiltworks, machine-quilted overlapping curls in the brown batik rectangles of each Churn Dash block and in the star point units. She stitched curved triangles in the triangle-squares, added a four-pointed star in each block center, and quilted the tan batik areas of the blocks, setting triangles, and corner triangles with wave motifs. The inner border features a pattern of curls and loops, and the outer border is filled with a feather pattern.
