Patches and Petals
Bolts of fabric, quilted samples, and a variety of gifts created by local craftspeople fill Patches and Petals quilt shop in Belleville, Wisconsin. The building, which was once a furniture store, charms with its original wood floors and tin ceiling.

The selection of fabrics offered at Patches and Petals runs the gamut. Quilters can choose from North Woods and nature prints, batiks, black-and-white prints, reproduction-inspired fabrics, and holiday prints.
More than 1,000 samples hang at Patches and Petals. Many samples are created with juvenile prints in cotton, flannel, and plush.
From the second floor of Patches and Petals quilters can get a bird'-eye view of the wide variety of fabrics available.
Patches and Petals co-owner Lynn Alme designed Warm Regards for Quilt Sampler® Spring/Summer 2012 magazine. This delightfully cozy quilt comes together more easily than you might think, and the side-by-side block placement yields a surprise secondary design.
Kate Hendrickson machine-quilted a continuous flower-and-leaf design across the quilt top.
Warm Regards Color Option
Animals are on parade across quilt tester Laura Boehnke's playful baby quilt version. She fussy-cut a novelty print so a different animal motif would star in the center square of each block. By choosing a blue and yellow palette for the triangle-squares, a secondary pattern emerges. Fabrics are from the Safari Sweet Hearts collection by Diane Eichler and Rhapsodie Colorée II by Ricky Tims, both for Red Rooster Fabrics.
