Fully Stocked
Country Fabrics and Quilting in Brainerd, Minnesota boasts more than 850 shop samples. Owner Deb Burton and her daughter, Steffani, make three new quilts a week to update their ever-rotating display. Always trying to keep the store fresh, Deb quickly puts fabric that isn't selling well on the sale rack to make room for a new product.

Machine-Quilting Designs
Machine-quilter Kelli Hartwig used variegated thread to quilt Over and Under with free-motion loops, scallops, swirls, and petal motifs in the blocks and borders. Although the blocks look randomly placed, they're actually part of a larger pattern centered on a red-and-lavender theme.

Over and Under Color Option
Over and Under gets a North Woods vibe when made in batiks and woodsy prints. Quilt tester Laura Boehnke selected a bold rust print for the rectangles to achieve the woven effect in her 18-block throw. Her fabrics are from the Birch Bark Lodge collection by Holly Taylor for Moda Fabrics.
