At the "big reveal" gathering in the American Patchwork & Quilting Crafts Lab, the original designer of the quilt was blindfolded to heighten the surprise element of her first look at the finished piece.

Round 1: Terry
Terry envisioned a simple, strong, graphic center: red appliqués forming interlocking circles on a white background.

Round 2: Gudrun
Gudrun provided a perfect foil to the curves, incorporating tumbling squares and a softer palette of blues and grays.

Round 3: Kari
Kari added appliquéd borders to the top and bottom edges and skinnier borders to the sides, making the quilt rectangular. She added texture with yo-yo flower centers and rickrack vines.

Round 4: Terri
Terri topped it off with a pieced curvy outer border and took a risk that paid off-adding appliquéd turquoise diamonds to the quilt center.

Terry's Finished Quilt
Far from the simple fire red rings on a white background Terry first sent off, her finished quilt called Kaleidoscope illustrates the beauty that can result from the pooled talents of four friends.
