Gudrun Erla's Round Robin Quilt
Meet Gudrun Erla
Gudrun Erla of GE Designs joined three fellow designers in the No-Rules Round Robin Challenge.
With an aesthetic more modern than the other participants, her shock at seeing the finished top was immediately apparent.
Their creativity and ingenuity left her nearly speechless as she took it all in.
Gudrun's Close Look
So captivated by the results, she got up close to check out the details.

Round 1: Gudrun
The only one to make a rectangular center at the start, Gudrun used a 15° ruler to cut pieces for the fans.
Round 2: Kari
Kari Carr added three rows of piping to the wavy border and finished off the corners with exclamation points.
Round 3: Terri
Terri Degenkolb continued with Kari's exclamation points, using them to create jacks (as in the children's game). She also added polka dots.
Round 4: Terry
Terry played with the 15° ruler, ultimately deciding to add fan pieces only to the corners and centers of the scalloped sides.
Gudrun's Final Touches
After the reveals were completred, Gundrun and the other designers went to work in the American Patchwork & Quilting Crafts Lab discussing what, if anything, should be done to "complete" these quilt tops.
Gudrun's Finished Quilt
In the end, Gudrun's finished quilt had the most unique final shape with its modern scalloped edge.
Rays of Friendship
Prior to quilting, Gudrun added a label to her quilt back with all four designers' names and her name for the quilt--Rays of Friendship.
