Two-Loop Backstitch Knot
To make a two-loop backstitch knot, take a small backstitch close to where your last stitch ended, then rather than pulling it through, make a loop.
Draw the needle through the loop and make a second loop.
Draw the needle through the second loop.
Pull gently on the needle to form the loops into a figure eight.
Pull the thread through tightly to close the figure eight and make a knot. Clip the thread.
One-Loop Backstitch Knot
To make a one-loop backstitch knot, take a small backstitch on top of your last stitch, then rather than pulling it through, make a small loop.
Draw the needle through the loop.
Pull the thread through tightly to close the loop and make a knot.
Make a second one-loop knot for extra security if desired. Clip the thread.
