Fabric Sleeve

Cut a piece of holiday fabric large enough to wrap around the middle of the present (we used a stripe fabric). Pink the edges, then glue the fabric around the wrapped present. Tie baker's twine around the gift and add a fabric gift tag.

Felted Flourishes

Cut two 1-1⁄2×12" strips of felted wool. (For small pom-poms, use one strip.) Glue or sew strips together along a pair of long edges. Use scissors to fringe unattached long edges. Roll paired strips into a coil and glue uncut edge. Glue pom-poms onto a wrapped package.

Woven Fabric Wrapping

Use a striped fabric as a guide to cut strips. Add decorative stitches if desires, then pink the edges of each strip. Weave them together for a patterned ribbon wrapping.

Gift Wrap Banner

Fabric triangles with pinked edges easily become a banner across the top of a present. Glue triangles in place, then tie a length of baker's twine around the present as the banner's string.

String Along

Gather eight lengths of embroidery floss or perle cotton in a single color; tie a knot in the center. Center knot on front of a wrapped package, fan out floss tails equally, and tape them to back of the package. Repeat using different floss colors. Glue flat beads or buttons over the knots.
