To dye the yellow rickrack for the Rickrack Tulips quilt, pour 1/2 cup of water into a glass measuring cup (one used only for dyeing purposes). Add 1 tablespoon of tan liquid fabric dye. Run the rickrack under tap water.

Add the damp rickrack to the dye solution in the measuring cup. Place the measuring cup in the microwave.

Microwave the rickrack in the dye solution on high for 60 seconds. Check the rickrack color. If it is too light, continue microwaving it on high at 1-minute intervals until the desired shade is achieved. Rinse the rickrack well and let it dry completely.
