Assemble House Block 2

1. Referring to Diagram 7, align a marked tan tone-on-tone 2-1/2" square with each end of red print 2-1/2x7-1/2" rectangle. Stitch, trim, and press each square as before to make roof unit. The unit should be 7-1/2x2-1/2" including seam allowances.

2. Sew together roof unit and gold print 5-1/2x7-1/2" rectangle to make House Block 2 (Diagram 8). Press seam in one direction. The block should be 7-1/2" square including seam allowances.

3. Position tan plaid A window and blue print B and B reversed shutters on House Block 2 (Diagram 9). Following the manufacturer’s instructions, fuse pieces in place. Using black perle cotton, blanket-stitch around each shape.

To blanket-stitch, refer to Blanket Stitch Diagram. Pull needle up at A. Form a reverse L shape with thread, and hold angle of L shape in place with your thumb. Push needle down at B and come up at C to secure stitch. Continue in same manner around entire shape.
