Rose Bouquet Table Runner

Incorporate the look of fresh flowers year-round with this sweet table runner. Romantic florals and light greens and pinks stand out against black prints. Fabrics are from the Friendship Tea collection by Sandy Lynam Clough for Red Rooster Fabrics.

Assemble Border Units

1. Referring to Diagram 8, align a marked green damask 3-1⁄2" square with each end of a black floral 3-1⁄2x12-1⁄2" rectangle. Stitch, trim, and press as before, pressing seams away from green damask. Align marked light pink polka dot 2" squares with green corners. Stitch, trim, and press as before, pressing seams away from light pink polka dot, to make a green border rectangle. The green border rectangle should still be 3-1⁄2x12-1⁄2" including seam allowances. Repeat to make six green border rectangles total.

2. Using marked pink damask 3-1⁄2" squares, marked black polka dot 2" squares, and remaining black floral 3-1⁄2x12-1⁄2" rectangles, repeat Step 1 to make two pink border rectangles, pressing seams toward pink damask 3-1⁄2" squares and black polka dot 2" squares.

3. Align a marked black polka dot 2" square with one corner of an unmarked pink damask 3-1⁄2" square (Diagram 9; note direction of marked line). Stitch, trim, and press as before to make a border square; press seam toward black polka dot. The border square should still be 3-1⁄2" square including seam allowances. Repeat to make four border squares total.
