Assemble Blocks
1. Referring to Diagram 3, join one dark red print 2x15" strip and one of each length of assorted medium and dark print 2"-wide strips to make Strip Set B. Press seams away from longest strip. Cut strip set into six 2"-wide B segments (Diagram 4). Move segments down to align bottom edges.
2. Gather one of each length of A segments, pulling from various strip sets to create a scrappy look. Referring to Diagram 5, lay out the A segments with the aligned B segments in six vertical rows.
3. Sew segments together by row. Join rows to make a block (Diagram 6). Press seams in one direction. The block should be 9-1⁄2" square including seam allowances.
4. Repeat steps 1–3 to make 24 blocks total.
