Assemble Pieced Blocks

1. Referring to Diagram 1, sew together a pink floral 1-5/8x28" strip and a cream tone-on-tone 1-5/8x28" strip to make a strip set. Press seam toward pink floral. Repeat to make a second strip set.

2. Cut strip sets into thirty two 1-5/8"-wide segments (Diagram 1).

3. Referring to Diagram 2, sew together two 1-5/8"-wide segments to make a Four-Patch unit. Press seam in one direction. The unit should be 2-3/4" square including seam allowances. Repeat to make 16 Four-Patch units total.

4. Referring to Diagram 3, lay out four Four-Patch units, four cream tone-on-tone 2-3/4x4" rectangles, and a pink floral 4" square in three horizontal rows. Sew together pieces in each row. Press seams toward rectangles. Join rows to make a pieced block; press seams in one direction. The block should be 8-1/2" square including seam allowances. Repeat to make four pieced blocks total.
