Nautical Pinwheels Quilt

Assemble Blocks

1. Referring to Diagram 3, lay out a small triangle-square, a large triangle-square, and two assorted bright print 2-1/2x4-1/2" rectangles in two vertical rows. Sew together pieces in each row. Press seams toward rectangles.

2. Join rows to make a block unit. Press seam toward large triangle-square. The unit should be 6-1/2" square including seam allowances.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to make 16 block units total.

4. Referring to Diagram 4, sew together four block units in pairs. Press seams in opposite directions. Join pairs to make a block. Press seam in one direction. The block should be 12-1/2" square including seam allowances. Repeat to make four blocks total.
