Assemble Triangle-Squares

1. Use a pencil to draw a diagonal line on wrong side of each solid white 2-7/8" square and 4-7/8" square.

2. Layer a marked solid white 2-7/8" square atop a bright print 2-7/8" square. Sew together with two seams, stitching 1/4" on each side of drawn line (Diagram 1). Cut apart on drawn line to make two triangle units. Press each triangle unit open, pressing seams toward bright print, to make two small triangle-squares. Each small triangle-square should be 2-1/2" square including seam allowances.

3. Repeat Step 2 to make 16 small triangle-squares total.

4. Using marked solid white 4-7/8" squares and navy-and-white print 4-7/8" squares, repeat Step 2 to make 16 large triangle-squares (Diagram 2). Each large triangle-square should be 4-1/2" square including seam allowances.
