Batik Triangle Stars

The same pattern is used to create the four blocks in this wall hanging. Careful fabric placement creates the illusion that they're different. Using Tonga Batiks from Timeless Treasures' Fire and Ice collections resulted in a graphic quilt.

Materials

Inspired by “Wildest Dreams” from quilt collector Miriam Kujac

3/4 yard total assorted light batiks in yellow and yellow-and-orange (blocks)
3/4 yard total assorted dark batiks in red, orange, and pink (blocks)
4—1/2-yard pieces blue batiks (blocks)
1/4 yard orange batik (inner border)
7/8 yard dark blue batik (outer border, binding)
3 yards backing fabric
53" square batting

Finished quilt: 47" square
Finished block: 18-3/4" square

Quantities are for 44/45"-wide, 100% cotton fabrics. Measurements include 1/4" seam allowances. Sew with right sides together unless otherwise stated.
