Asian Lone Star

The border blocks center squares and the large open spaces surrounding the center star are a perfect place to showcase medium- and large-scale prints.

Materials

Inspired by: “Shades of Spring,” By Designers Cori Dersksen and Myra Harder of Blue Meadow Designs

Fabrics used are a mix of the Peking Kids, Yoshiko, and Gilded Greenery collections, all from Blank Quilting.

2-1/4 yard green print (star, outer border, binding)
2/3 yard gold print (star, blocks)
3/4 yard coral print (star)
1/2 yard blue print (star, blocks)
1 yard tree print (background)
1/3 yard orange-and-gold print (inner border)
4 -- 1/3 yard pieces Asian florals and prints (blocks)
5/8 yard orange print (blocks)
5/8 yard light blue print (blocks)
3-3/4 yards backing fabric
67" square batting

Finished quilt: 60-1/2" square
Finished block: 6" square

Quantities are for 44/45"-wide, 100% cotton fabrics. Measurements include 1/4" seam allowances. Sew with right sides together unless otherwise stated.
