Assemble Four-Patch Units
1. Referring to Diagram 1, sew together two solid 4-1/2" squares and two print 4-1/2" squares in pairs. Press seams open. Join pairs to make a large Four-Patch unit. Press seams open. The large Four-Patch unit should be 8-1/2" square including seam allowances. Repeat to make a matching large Four-Patch unit.
2. Repeat Step 1 to make 30 large Four-Patch units total (15 sets of two matching units).
3. Centering the seam lines, trim a large Four-Patch unit to 6-1/2" square, including seam allowances, to make a small Four-Patch unit . Repeat with one Four-Patch unit from each set to make 15 total small Four-Patch units.
