Poinsettia Basket
“I like the look of the old-fashioned muslin and solid red quilts,” says Tammy, who designed “Poinsettia Basket.” “Although I didn’t use solids here, it was that look that inspired me.” Tammy added interest with a nostalgic checkered outer border and an inner border that incorporates a churn dash block. Using buttons as the center of the flowers adds texture to this all-cotton celebration of the holiday season. “I love to decorate for the holidays and I know how busy they can be,” says Tammy. Tammy and Avis strive to make Joined at the Hip projects fast and easy, and “Poinsettia Basket” is no exception. The flowers and stems are easily attached using fusible machine appliqué and the basket, border, and churn dash are created with rotary cutting and piecing.
