“When I begin a new project, I audition my fabrics by tossing them in a pile on the floor and stepping back to view the results,” Kim says. “It may sound overly simple, but hitting upon the right combination of prints and colors means that I’ll love the blend instantly. If I’m not sure I like the mix that I’ve created, I listen to that little voice inside and make changes. When I please myself, I enjoy the time that I spend sewing, and the finished project is something I’ll love for years to come.”
