From Spinner to Quilter
It’s fun to see what Sue Beevers is up to. On any given day the energetic quilt designer, musician, and artist could be indoors teaching students to play the cello, at work in her studio dyeing or painting fabric, creating a quilt from one of her new fabric lines, or packing for a quilting lecture trip to a major fiber conference.
For the past 30 years Sue has been immersed in the fiber field. She began by painting fabric she had woven, but soon became more intrigued by the painting than the weaving. Today, Sue is an expert spinner, weaver, and dyer whose ear for rhythm and eye for color and movement has garnered her high acclaim both in painting fabrics and in turning those fabrics into stunning quilts.
