Assemble Pillow Sham Top

1. Referring to Pillow Sham Assembly Diagram, lay out blue, purple, lavender, and green batik strips in a row. Join strips to make pillow sham center; press seams in one direction. The pillow sham center should be 23-1/2x16-1/2" including seam allowances.

2. Referring to Pillow Sham Assembly Diagram, sew turquoise batik 2-3/4x16-1/2" border strip to left-hand edge of pillow sham center. Join dark turquoise batik 2-3/4x16-1/2" border strip to right-hand edge of pillow sham center. Press seams toward border strips.

3. Sew together a turquoise batik 2-3/4x14-1/4" strip and a dark turquoise batik 2-3/4x14-1/4 strip to make a top border strip. Press seams in one direction. The top border strip should be 2-3/4x28" including seam allowances. Repeat to make a bottom border strip.

4. Join top and bottom border strips to remaining edges of pillow sham center (Pillow Sham Assembly Diagram), aligning turquoise and dark turquoise portions of strips with corresponding side borders, to make pillow sham top. Press seams toward border.
