Metallic Fireworks Pillow

Add patriotic bursts to a plain pillow with simple machine straight-stitching. The dark blue background serves as a night sky for the red and white metallic sparklers.

Materials

Inspired by 2 Wishes from designer Wendy Sheppard
Quilt tester: Mary Pepper

7⁄8 yard solid blue (pillow front, pillow back)
14x18" batting
Metallic embroidery thread: red, silver
12x16" pillow form
Machine needle: metallic 14/90
Water-soluble marking pen: white or yellow

Finished pillow: 16x12"

Yardages and cutting instructions are based on 42" of usable fabric width.
Measurements include 1⁄4" seam allowances. Sew with right sides together unless otherwise stated.
