Appliqué Pillow Front and Back
1. Referring to Pillow Front Assembly Diagram, sew tan stripe 1x10" inner border strips to side edges of house block. Add tan stripe 1x11" inner border strips to remaining edges. Press all seams toward inner border.
2. Join multicolor stripe 1-1/2x11" middle border strips to side edges of house block. Add multicolor stripe 1-1/2x13" middle border strips to remaining edges. Press all seams toward middle border.
3. Sew tan bird print 2x13" outer border strips to side edges of house block. Add tan bird print 2x16" outer border strips to remaining edges to make pillow front. Press all seams toward outer border. The pillow front should be 16" square including seam allowances.
4. Referring to Pillow Back Assembly Diagram, repeat steps 1 and 2 to add inner and middle border strips to heart block.
5. Join dark tan tone-on-tone 2x13" outer border strips to opposite edges of heart block. Add dark tan tone-on-tone 2x16" outer border strips to remaining edges to make pillow back. Press all seams toward outer border. The pillow back should be 16" square including seam allowances.
