In Between Stitches, located in Livermore, California, is a quilt shop that provides a place for quilters and friendships to grow.
Visitors to In Between Stitches are greeted by 3,100 square feet of stunning displays filling custom white shelves on golden floors and lit by shining skylights. Co-owners Leslie Emery and Melissa Emery, an aunt and niece team, provide “a place where friendships grow,” as their store motto states.

Among the unique architectural features of the space skylights that flood the built-in shelves with natural light.
Long-lasting friendship are made during classes at In Between Stitches. Quilters especially enjoy the Friendship Club and Wimpy All Nighter classes, both of which start at 6 p.m. and go late into the night.
Three of the staff members are pattern designers—Lisa Stone (Quilt Bug Patterns), Lynn Wilder (Sew’n Wild Oaks), and Dee Christopher (DeeVine Quilts). Their patterns are featured in the shop, as well as patterns designed by Leslie and Melissa. Pop Art by Artichoke Collection is a simple quilt that provides quilters an opportunity to practice both piecing and appliqué.
Vignettes, like this spring scene, dot the store. Leslie draws on her experience a display designer for a department store and a home decor store. This vignette features House on Edgewood Lane above Rabbits Prefer Chocolate and Summer Cottage. A bag designed by Amy Butler hangs on the corner of the table.
Shop owners Leslie Emery and Melissa Emery designed Perfect Harmony for Quilt Sampler magazine.
