The Comfort Thimble
We shared this unusually shaped thimble with several quilters who find ordinary thimbles uncomfortable. They reported that the soft, flexible material clings to fingers without tightness, allowing them to hand-stitch for longer periods of time. The textured and angled tip provided excellent traction for pushing the needle through several quilting stitches. As a bonus, when pulling a needle through fabric, the thimble's rubberlike material gripped the needle. It's available in sizes extra-small through extra-large at quilt shops or contact Comfort Thimble, PO Box 442, Gresham, OR 97030; 503/492-0588, fax 503/492-0649; e-mail comfort thimble@aol.com.
