The Quilting Bee
The Quilting Bee in Fonthill, Ontario, Canada, brings quilting back to the days of quilting bees and connecting with dear friends.
Wine Country Quilting
Nestled in wine country just 15 miles west of Niagara Falls, Fonthill, Ontario is home to The Quilting Bee. Taking its name from traditional quilting bees, Kelly Corfe’s shop is housed in a log cabin-style building. The building also houses a gift shop, restaurant, and ice cream parlor.
Find What You Want
Quilts drape surfaces throughout The Quilting Bee’s pine wood interior. “People can come here and find what they want,” Kelly says.

A Kind Welcome
With the help of her husband and staff, Kelly showcases Asian, country, traditional, and Civil War quilts. More than a business, The Quilting Bee is a place for friends to catch up.
Wood furniture adds to the homey feeling of The Quilting Bee. Jacki Morningstar’s Woodland Bears melds with the shop’s decor.
Room to Bloom
Jacki Morningstar, a staff member at The Quilting Bee, designed Room to Bloom for Quilt Sampler magazine.
In Room to Bloom, hand-quilted vines and grids complement dimensional flower appliqué details and pieced inner borders.
Room to Bloom Color Option
In place of the appliqué and embroidery, quilt test Laura Boehnke featured large-scale florals with a slightly retro flair in the center heart and border of Room to Bloom. Fabrics are from the Veranda collection for Maywood Studio.
