Cozy Quarters

Quilters Cupboard fills this homey clapboard house.

Club Hub

The Mini Bow Tucks tote by Penny Sturges is a popular bag pattern at Quilters Cupboard, which boasts a variety of classes and clubs, including a club dedicated to the square-in-a-square technique developed by Jodi Barrows.

Child’s Play

One room houses brights, pastels, flannels, and plush blanket fabrics. There samples, such as the Nap Time wall hanging from The Pattern Basket and Doodle Bugs car quilt by Annette Ornelas, are interspersed with precut fabrics and bolts of novelty fabric.

Autumn Nights

Sherri Hisey of Border Creek Station Pattern Co. designed Autumn Nights for Quilt Sampler Fall/Winter 2010 magazine.

Details

On Autumn Nights machine-quilter Brenda Wells outlined each appliqué and stitched meandering leaf designs in the black backgrounds, setting and corner triangles, and border No. 1. She also quilted flower and leaf motifs.

Autumn Nights Color Option

By eliminating the appliqués, quilt tester Laura Boehnke demonstrates the versatility of the star blocks in the quilt. A secondary pattern of additional stars emerged when Laura used darker turquoise and gold hues in the corner units rather than in the centers, which feature fussy-cut dragonfly squares, and rotated the four B blocks. Fabrics are from the Nature’s Glow collection by Ro Gregg for Northcott Silk.
