With its impressive size and inventory, this rural New York quilt shop is cutting edge. “Because we have so much fabric, we try and greet people as they come in; otherwise, they’d wander for a long time,” shop owner, Judi West says of her and her husband.

Brighten the Day with Fabric
This newly built board-and-batten structure has natural light streaming in overhead through rows of clerestory windows, casting a glow on the fabric below. This 5,000-square-foot quilter’s haven harbors thousands of fabric bolts along with a fireplace-warmed seating area and beams perfect for hanging quilts.
Soar Around Fabrics
Fabric kites fly over the abundant selection of merchandise in this shop’s spacious interior.
These internationally inspired dolls offer small, short-term projects while the fabrics support the shop’s vast array of samples.
Handbag patterns are popular first projects. Using patterns of her design, staff member Judy Sheridan teaches Assisi appliqué, a mix of needle-turn and reverse appliqué.
The Finger Lakes region is a popular spot for water sports and recreation, drawing many visitors to the area. Nautical-theme quilts, such a New Leaf Stitches’ Ahoy, are great souvenirs for vacationing quilters.
