Let's Be Civil

Quilt Designer: Denise Guthrie

Play with placement of light, medium, and dark Civil War-era fabrics to create blocks that alternately appear as stars and Irish Chains.

Let's Be Civil Machine-Quilting Details

Machine Quilter: Sue Carlisle

Sue Carlisle custom-machine-quilted a flower design in the center of each block and an Orange Peel variation of interlocking circles in the surrounding triangles. She stitched a flower fan motif in the cream print triangles on the outside edges of each block. Sue quilted a piano key design of parallel lines about 1-1/4" apart in the outer border.
