Bolts of Fabric
While bolts of fabric line the walls and shelves at Lori’s Country Cottage, smaller pieces, such as batik fat quarters, are showcased in an antique spice bin.
Canadian-theme prints are popular at Lori’s Country Cottage. In this vignette, maple leaf prints team up in a rag quilt and coordinating table runner.
Designer Lidia Froehler of Cotton Treasure Design created Northern View for Quilt Sampler® Spring/Summer 2012 magazine. She invokes images of Canada with mountain units, Maple Leaf blocks, and Flying Geese units radiating from a center star.
Lori’s Country Cottage owner Lori Bosecke machine-quilted a variety of intricate feather, leaf, and scroll motifs on the quilt. She stipple-quilted the cream print backgrounds of the center star and Maple Leaf blocks.
Northern View Color Option
Quilt tester Laura Boehnke used a soft palette of fabrics featuring vintage-inspired motifs, including lamps, telephones, keys, and silhouettes. She simplified the design by using a stripe for the inner and middle borders. Fabrics are from the Daisy Cottage collection by Lori Holt of Bee in My Bonnet for Riley Blake Designs.
