Quilt Maker: Laura Boehnke
From American Patchwork and Quilting, December 2007With the hustle and bustle of the holidays approaching, quilt tester Laura Boehnke stitched up a four-block version that can be finished in just a few hours. Using plaids, stripes, and prints from the Farmhouse Cottons and Home Sweet Home collections by Joined at the Hip for Clothworks, Laura created a wall hanging with folk art appeal. “Instead of a satin stitch, I sewed a blanket stitch with black thread around the appliqués to set off the shapes, soft colors, and unique designs of each tree,” Laura says.
