Once a month, we highlight blogs our staff is reading right now!
Vanessa Christenson is a Moda Fabrics designer, an author, and owner of her own design and pattern company. She’s the mom of four beautiful children (and yes, they show up in the cutest pictures on her blog!) She’s also been blogging a lot lately about two of our favorite things: hexagons and Dresden plates. Her blog showcases colorful pictures of her latest projects, step-by-step instructions for some creative techniques, interesting stories of her day-to-day life, and even an occasional recipe! She has a hip and trendy style with such an eye for color, that her blog is total eye candy!
This blog is a creative outlet for Weeks Ringle of Modern Quilt Studio. She’s an author, teacher, and fabric and pattern designer. She’s also quite the world traveler. Her and her husband Bill travel around the country teaching inspiring classes (trust us, they’ve given us quite a few “Aha!” moments). Weeks writes fascinating posts showcasing where they’re traveling, the amazing sights they’re experiencing, and how quilting and the creative process is being shared among their friends and followers.
Carrie Nelson from Miss Rosie’s Quilt Co. has been quilting for more than 25 years. She’s accomplished so much in her time in the industry: as an author, teacher, fabric and pattern designer. She’s still designing the most beautiful quilts (we have featured several in our magazines!) and her use of scraps is both mesmerizing and inspiring. Her blog is a mix of her current projects, everyday musings, and tips and tricks that she’s learned through the years, Whether you’re just starting to sew or you’ve been quilting as long as Carrie, her blog is entertaining and educational!
