On the radio this week (CLICK HERE) I had Brian Haggard who chatted about his new crazy quilt book. This got me searching the All People Quilt website for some crazy quilt treasures!

Every quilter I know has a stash of fabric. We pick up fabrics that speak to us or remind us of a trip or are our favorite color. When I picked up my October 2011 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting magazine, I loved the cover quilt. Designers Paula Barnes and Mary Ellen Robison of Bonnie Blue Quilts did an amazing job of pulling together lots of scraps and framing the blocks with a classic blue print in Star Formation.
Do you like making scrap quilts? Do you let yourself go and put all types of fabrics together? Or do you control the craziness by only picking scraps in a few colors?
I’m headed to the sewing room to start picking out fabrics for my next scrap quilt.
Have you noticed that a lot of designers have multiple fabric types in their line now? From Bark Cloth, to Linen, to Knits! Designer Patty Young creates beautiful fabrics and designs clothing for children and adults. Her knits are so yummy…. but many of us have not sewn with knits in … well.. forever!
So how do we handle a knit? Patty has a series of videos on youtube to explain it.. brilliant, just brilliant!
