CARRIE NELSON
Instructor: Scraps Made Simple
Although Carrie Nelson would love to tell you that she comes from a long line of quilters or that she¹s a quilting prodigy, she actually discovered the joy of sewing when she was nine while sewing clothing. That spark was reignited during college, where she discovered a local quilt shop and instantly fell in love with the stacks of fabric and pattern options. After accumulating a wealth of supplies, she finally worked up the nerve to take a few quilting classes and her quiltmaking passion began.
Today, Carrie is the owner of Miss Rosie's Quilt Co., which she named after her beloved quilting canine companion, Rosie. A true quilt-dog, Rosie inspects every bag of fabric that comes in the house and always roots through the wastebasket by the sewing machine. When creating quilts, Carrie is partial to fat-quarters and always strives to employ fast-piecing methods. There is too much gorgeous fabric out there and too many quilts for me to make that I don't want to spend any more time than I have to on any one quilt, Carrie says.
