BETTINA HAVIG

Instructor: Learn Hand Piecing

Through her roles as a historian, lecturer, and author, Bettina Havig shares her knowledge of quilting’s rich history. As a quilt designer and workshop leader, Bettina takes traditional patterns and makes them accessible to present-day quilters. “I have such a passion for quilts and quiltmaking that I can’t help but look for new ways to make traditional patterns,” Bettina says. She especially enjoys hand piecing because of its portability and the satisfaction of seeing the work of her own hands—so much so that she rarely uses her sewing machine.
