Cut Fabrics
Cut pieces in the following order. Cut outer border strips lengthwise (parallel to the selvages), centering floral design between stripes.

Designer Robyn Pandolph places freezer paper on a fabric’s right side to prepare pieces for needle-turn appliqué. To use her method, complete the following steps.
1. Lay freezer paper, shiny side down, over patterns. Using a pencil, trace each pattern the number of times indicated in cutting instructions. Cut out freezer-paper shapes on drawn lines.
TIP: Sort freezer-paper shapes into small resealable plastic bags (for example, all leaves in one bag) until you need them.
2. Using a hot, dry iron, press each freezer-paper shape, shiny side down, onto right side of designated fabric, leaving 1/2" between shapes. Trace around edges of freezer-paper shapes using an extra-fine-point permanent marker (this line will be turned under as you stitch).
TIP: Check the marker on scrap fabric to make sure it doesn’t bleed. As some pens age, their ink separates and tends to bleed.
3. Cut out each fabric shape, adding a 1/8"–1/4" seam allowance to all edges. (The more experienced you are with appliqué, the less seam allowance you need to needle-turn. When in doubt, trim to 1/4"; you can always trim more later as you stitch.)
From cream print, cut:
4—12-1/2" squares
4—8-1/2" squares
From green-and-tan print, cut:
4 each of patterns A, B, B reversed, K, N, O, and O reversed
36 each of patterns C and C reversed
24 of Pattern F
From solid light pink, cut:
12 each of patterns D, E, and E reversed
From light blue print, cut:
12 of Pattern G
4 of Pattern Q
From tan floral, cut:
3—6-1/2x42" strips for inner border
2—6-1/2x36-1/2" inner border strips
