From Myra

When I was growing up, I wanted to be:
An interior designer. In my ten-year-old mind, that was going to be my career and there were no other options.

My ideal day:
A very selfish day of solitude. My kids would be at their grandparents on the farm; my husband would be fishing, and I would have the whole house to myself. No schedule, no meals to plan, no laundry to do, and the phone would never ring. It would be my day to sew, go for a walk, or watch a movie.

Where I find inspiration:
Everywhere! I’ll look at shop displays or magazine ads to see what the trends are, then translate them into a quilting layout.

My motto:
"I think there is another way to do that." It's just my nature to always look for another road. It's hard for me to follow the same path that someone else has already explored.

Music I listen to while I create:
Everything about me is eclectic, including my taste in music. I listen to everything from Point of Grace to ZZ Top. They are all songs that inspire me, relax me, or bring back good memories.

My most prized possession:
My first bow and arrow set, given to me as a gift for my seventh birthday, when my family visited South America. A local woman who lived along the Amazon made the bow. The arrows have been lost a long time, but I still have the bow that is covered by colorful woven thread.
